Our ready to let office development Dakota is proud to be right in the middle of an active and exciting local area, which has an extensive social calendar that occupiers of our office space will be able to enjoy. That calendar kicked off recently at one our neighbours, the Brooklands Museum, who hosted their annual ‘New Year Classic Gathering Meet’ on New Year’s Day.

The New Year’s Day event attracted a big crowd of people, keen to see more than 1,000 vehicles on display at the Weybridge museum. The meet began at 12pm with live music and a winter barbecue, with other food outlets available throughout the day. There was truly something for everyone as a vast display of diverse classics were on show.

It was not just the classics that were brought along by their owners, other sports and supercars had a section dedicated to them at the northern end of The Heights. The world renowned former Brooklands race course was also used to showcase vehicles, with the famous concrete bend providing a perfect setting for the kind of cars that used to zip round the track.

The annual gathering signalled the start of Brooklands’ classic car calendar of events for the year with the next event, the VSCC Driving Tests, on January 28th.

The Vintage Sports-Car Club and their annual Driving Tests are always a fantastic event for classic car fans. Some 60 pre-war cars will tackle a dozen different tests around complicated courses laid out around the historic Brooklands site including Test Hill and the Banking, with drivers competing against the clock while trying to avoid any penalty-attracting mistakes.

As with all VSCC events, the competition will boast an eclectic mix of pre-war cars with tests runing throughout the day, starting from 10am, with a break for lunch. Everyone involved at Dakota is certainly looking forward it as it provides a prime example of why locating your business in Brooklands, Weybridge, puts you at the heart of so much activity whilst only being a short train ride from central London.
